Are the lubricants you use for your vehicles and applications dependable?

How can you be sure that the lubricant, whether it’s engine oil, transmission or brake fluid, or hydraulic fluid you put in your vehicle or application is what it says it is and meets the performance specifications stated by the manufacturer?

If you choose a lubricant based on manufacturer specifications and the product lives up to those specifications, you have adequate protection for your fleet or vehicle. If you use a mis-labelled lubricant the effects can be disastrous.

As an example, Opus Lubricants Synopus Nova VLS 5W/30 synthetic engine oil’s technical data sheet states its benefits as:

  • Improved fuel economy.
  • Low volatility.
  • Very high viscosity index.
  • Excellent cold starting characteristics.
  • Better thermal stability, improved engine cleanliness.

If we didn’t deliver on that promise and our oil was below the stated specifications, a vehicle using it could experience accelerated wear on the engine components. This could lead to more required maintenance and even total breakdown not just of one vehicle, but of an entire fleet. This puts a business that depends on its vehicles at serious risk.
